{S'More Love}

I spent the weekend at a nice resort on Maryland's Eastern Shore.  Upon arrival, I was given a voucher for a free S'mores kit to roast at the evening camp fire.  I'm far removed from being a kid but...that pretty much excited me like it would an 8 year old girl scout.  S'MORESSSSSSSSSS!!!

This brings me to today's post.  I've seen S'mores kits as wedding favors, baby shower favors, and tokens of thanks after various events.  Such an inexpensive gift can bring total delight and giddiness to the recipient...especially if it's ME...without breaking the bank.  Here are a few cute ideas I've seen around the web for gifting a fabulous S'mores kit.

{ Repurpose CD Sleeves for Valentine's Day }

I love when I can use something that I have around the house for a cute craft idea.  And let's face it...the days of burning cd's are pretty much a thing of the past.  If you're looking for a way to use and repurpose all of those paper cd jackets of yester-year that you have sitting around the house...here ya go!

Using the cd sleeve as a cookie envelope is just too cute for me!  Hand them out for Valentine's Day, as a wedding favor, or at your kid's birthday party.  Put them in your welcome basket for out of town guests, or have them on hand for your next team meeting.  Tie them up with an adorable ribbon or baker's twine (I honestly could go on and on about my infatuation with baker's twine...but I won't...not today at least), and include a small note.  Now your already awesome cookie recipe is being presented in a way that does it justice!

Eighteen25 blog gives some really adorable ideas for cd covers and cookies.  They even include an M&M cookie recipe.  Check them out!

Here are some other ways and websites that show us how to use a cd wrapper to dress up your cookies...

{Let them eat pie}

A wedding is by far one of the most important events in a person's life.  The personal touches at a wedding speak volumes about the happy couple.  A three-tier white cake with a bride and groom toppers says "we're pretty traditional people."  If the topper has a wife dragging the groom by the collar while thumping a baseball bat, that says "we have a sense of humor...and the bride is the boss."  And if the happy couple has a pie buffet, it says "we follow no rules"...or...maybe it just says "we love pie."

A quirky spin on the traditional cake table is an unexpected surprise for wedding guests and is a great way to add a personal touch to a wedding that can otherwise be fairly traditional.  Offer the couple's favorite flavors as a way to tell guests a little something about what the couple loves.  Add different cake stands of different heights and you have a table that's both visually appealing and quite appetizing.
