{Owl Smores}

OMG...lol...the picture of this little guy made me have to write a quick post about this!  This is so adorable!!

Recipe for Owl Smores from Living Locurto.  Be sure to check out her coordinating printables!

Ingredients:
  • graham crackers
  • marshmallows
  • chocolate chips
  • yellow candy melts
  • candy corn
Directions:
  1. Cut one marshmallow in half and place both pieces on a large graham cracker (2 stuck together).
  2. Put a candy melt on top of the marshmallows.
  3. Heat in the microwave for about 2-5 seconds, just enough to make the marshmallows puff up, but not get too hot.
  4. Take out of microwave and add a chocolate chip on the yellow candy melt and the candy corn beak while the marshmallows and candy are still warm. Everything should stick together nicely.
  5. Let cool and serve! You can make these the night before a party and everything is still very tasty.

{We Heart Candy Corn}

Halloween is a time of year when an adult can let out their inner child.  We can wear costumes, go to parties, and indulge in confectionary goodness without feeling too guilty about it.  We can buy bags of candy and convince ourselves that the only reason we're eating it is because we were unable to give it all away on Halloween night.  They don't call it the "Fun Size" candy for nothin'!  At DC Sweet Treats, one of our favorite candies is candy corn.  Mmmmm mmmm!

Candy corn is total sugary, buttery goodness that is in limited edition since it's only available around Halloween.  Those little faux orange, yellow, and white kernels just bring delight to my life and symbolize that it's time for Candy Season!  If you're a candy corn lover like we are, you'll love some of these cool candy corn-themed ideas that we found around the web.
