{Not Your Teacher's Chalkboard}

I love anything, and I do mean anything, that involves chalkboard paint!  But I found this idea to be too cute to resist!  These nickel plated trays are found in almost every Dollar Tree, but if you can't find them there, see what your local thrift store has on its shelves!  You can also use a vintage picture frame or mirror (just be super careful if it's made of glass), you can use paint and a brush or spray paint.  You just can't do it wrong!

 This is an awesome idea for signage at a wedding or event, or a unique way to leave a note for a family member.  The possibilities are endless, but the project is so simple!  Here are some instructions for this project thanks to 504main.com.

{Fun With Yarn}

I saw this idea by way of Pinterest (which I LOVE LOVE LOVE!) and I just thought it was such an adorable idea!  If there's one thing I love, it's simple yet adorable crafts, and this definitely fits the bill!

Whether you're decorating for a party or creating a decor piece for your home, this project using yarn, balloons, and glue could not be simpler!  I cannot wait to try it!  I love the idea of putting these yarn balls in a glass bowl or in a basket.  It looks just as good as any knick-knack you'd find in Pier 1 or Pottery Barn, but for a fraction of the cost, and you're able to customize to fit your exact color scheme and decor theme!

Here are some other ideas...

{May the Force Be With You}

I am LOVING my awesome Christmas gift!  I get to let out my inner geek by way of baking, and I end up with a cool batch of cookies!  These Star Wars cookie cutters from Williams-Sonoma made me shriek and giggle when I opened the package, and I could not wait to get to baking!

{Happy Holidays!!}

Sweet Treats wishes everybody a safe and happy holiday season!

And don't forget to leave cookies for Santa!!

{Sweet Treats Takes a Sweet Vacation}

Ahhhh....there's just nothing like escaping to a beautiful tropical paradise smack dab in the middle of winter.  A place where the heat knocks the chill off your bones, the sun basks away the stress and tension that has built up over the course of the year,  the view of nice tall palm trees replace concrete buildings and street lights, and the sounds of horns honking and office gib gab is substituted with the smooth, calming sounds of ocean waves lapping with the current.

                                                                   {view from our balcony}

Or as we called it for a week...the good life.

For seven days and seven nights, our biggest concern was whether we wanted to go to the pool, then the beach...or the beach, then the pool.  Or how to say "one more daquiri" en EspaƱol.  (WHEW that Spanish 1 recall came in handy!)

We spent time reading, reflecting, catching up, dancing, laughing, and just plain old vegging out.  It was good for the soul...and also good for our tan...as most of it was done pool side or on the beach.  Nothing beats good old fashioned girl time, and we had plenty of it.

We thoroughly enjoyed the people and the scenery of the Dominican Republic.  There were tears on the way back to the airport...for real...But most of all we enjoyed each other.  And we brought back with us a lot of sweet memories.
